The inauguration of this boutique winery triggered in 1998 the renaissance of Lebanese wines and vineyards.
Indeed, this bijou winery was the first of new generation wineries bringing the number to 18 (from 6 in 1998). The already established ones had to improve their wineries and vineyards.
This new development in the Bekaa changed the landscape with an extension of the vineyards from 1200 ha to 2000 ha.
In Lebanon, the majority of the vineyards and wineries are in the Bekaa Valley; grape varieties and expertise are inspired from France.

Massaya is situated in Tanaïl, the heart of the Bekaa Valley, home to some of the oldest and most original motifs of ancient wines and wine-making. From the coastal cities, the Phoenicians exported their wines across the Mediterranean, while in Baalbeck one is faced with the awe-inspiring temple of Bacchus- the Roman God of wine- celebrating the Valley’s fertility and its role as the Roman Empire’s vineyard. The Bekaa is once again proving it can produce great wines and Massaya, whose name is Arabic for the delicate beauty of the Bekaa’s twilight, is proud to perpetuate this ancient tradition.
