April 11 - December 09 , at Faqra

Massaya is delighted to welcome leading international chefs to the Fireplace restaurant at Faqra as part of our celebration of 20 years of winemaking in Lebanon. 

The visiting chefs will all take charge of our kitchen for a few days during the year and will prepare a celebration Saturday lunch as a set menu. Guests will be able to see the team at work and discuss gastronomy with the chefs. 

Our first chef, Melissa O’Donnell from New York, was with us in May and created a memorable meal. She produced a menu full of new treatments of some traditional dishes. 

She will be followed in October and December by two other famous names from England and France as Massaya embraces the skills and reputation of global cuisine. 

Mark Hix Sunday October 7 – Saturday October 13 
As a chef and businessman Mark has few equals in London where his name has become synonymous with original ideas and outstanding quality. This is what he will be bringing to Faqra. Mark was chef director for the Caprice group of famous London restaurants (including The Ivy) before opening his own oyster and chop house in 2008. Since then he has expanded with Hix eateries in the most interesting parts of London and on England’s south coast where he hosts an annual food festival.

Daniel Hebet Saturday December 8 – Sunday December 9 
Daniel is the quintessential French chef with outstanding flair and a passion for quality from the freshest of seasonal ingredients. He worked for a time in Lima, Peru and has introduced elements from Peruvian cooking into some of his Mediterranean dishes. He first came to prominence at La Mirande hotel in Avignon where he was awarded a Michelin star, before opening Le Jardin du Quai in the picturesque Provencal town of Isle sur la Sorgue. ‘I live to serve good food,’ he says.
