Residency Program

Massaya Faqra is offering a range of seasonal work opportunities from summer through to the ski season. The Massaya winery at Faqra in Mount Lebanon has built a reputation for great food and wines and we are looking for young people to join our residency program. We offer interesting work among wine and hospitality professionals where the camaraderie comes from a job well done. 

Below is more information about the positions we offer: 


1-Hospitality Assistant: Summer jobs with accommodation

Duration: June-July-August

Minimum period: 2 months

Discover the world and accumulate experience. An international winery offers the dream summer job in the mountains of Lebanon, a country renowned for its joie de vivre. Be part of a young dynamic team. Full board offered to students in exchange for hospitality roles, such as waiters, bar tenders and kitchen assistants. No experience required as we will teach you the skills. You may even want to do a spot of DJ-ing. Work five days a week and explore the country during the other two. Meet eclectic people, gain valuable experience, be part of another culture.

 

2-Ski in exchange for work

Duration: January-February

Minimum period: 1 month

Accommodation and full board close to the ski slopes is offered to travelers who would like to work in our restaurants at weekends. Openings for waiters, bartenders, kitchen assistants. No experience required; we will teach you the skills. Rest of the week is for skiing and enjoying the best winter sport in the region.


 

3-Assistant Winemaker

Duration: July to November

Working hours: Depends on workload, July and October are quite relaxed and could be used to discover the country.

Language: English and/or French

Experience: a minimum of two harvests

You will be in charge of a white wine winery. A qualified team on site will be supporting you. You will take part in the various stages of winemaking and will report directly to the winemaker on the work in progress. The winery is equipped to produce 5,000 cases of white wine with most of the fermentation happening in oak. You will supervise and take part in sorting the grapes, the pressurage, the fermentation, and the ageing on lees. The winemaker will guide you on a daily basis through the different tasks. You will also supervise an experimental terraced vineyard.

The site is modern and relaxing with restaurants and visitors, some special events are organized during the high season such as concerts, clubbing, outdoor movies. Accommodation and full board offered. Be part of a young dynamic team and develop your skills in the world of wine.


4-Assistant Chef

Major/Emphasis: hotel management and tourism

Duration: June to September

Working hours: shifts will depend on the opening hours of the venue but a minimum of 4 days a week

Skills and requirements:

Should enjoy cooking and serving quality food

·      Multitasker (bakery, pastries, grill ….)

·      Motivational and team spirited

·      Curious and eager to learn 

Job description and responsibilities:

·      Support the chef to ensure high standards of satisfaction

·      Work with the chef to carry out and assist with the preparations of all meals

·      Maintain high-quality food and hygiene standards

·      Contribute to the weekly specials and/or new recipes

·      Coordinate with the welcoming team regarding the upcoming events 

·      Contribute to food preparation 

·      Lead kitchen team in chef's absence

·      Contribute to staff schedule and activities for the upcoming day

·      Contribute to monthly kitchen inventories

·      Update delivery orders and compare them to the orders

·      Contribute to organizing kitchen stock and ingredients

·      Ensure a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verify all food products are dated and organized for quality assurance


5-Resident Bartender

Major/Emphasis: hotel management and tourism

Duration: July – August
